The intent of the scholarship program is to bring talent into,
and enhance and train existing talent, in the industries of plumbing, HVAC, and electric.

The Nexstar Legacy Foundation is devoted to bringing new talent into the home services industry. Our scholarship program provides qualified individuals interested in entering, or currently working in, the plumbing, HVACR and/or electrical fields funds to complete their education.
The Nexstar Legacy Foundation grants $20,000 in scholarships yearly to students in educational programs directly related to plumbing, heating/ventilation/air conditioning/refrigeration and electrical professions. The scholarships are available for each academic year with applications due the January before the start of fall semester. Applicants are accepted from citizens of Australia, Canada, the Cayman Islands and the United States.
You can apply for a scholarship if you are planning to enter the plumbing, HVACR and / or electrical fields, and if you are attending or planning to enroll in:
An apprenticeship program in plumbing, HVACR or electric while working full-time for a licensed plumbing, HVACR or electrical contractor; or
A technical college or community college working toward a plumbing, HVACR or electrical degree or certificate; or
An undergraduate or graduate college degree in fields such as business administration, accounting, marketing and mechanical or electrical engineering

Four essay responses
Why are you applying for a plumbing-heating-cooling-electrical profession-related scholarship?
What are your career goals and how do you anticipate using your education in the plumbing-HVACR-electrical professions?
Describe your experience in the plumbing-HVACR-electrical industry.
List your extracurricular activities (clubs, sports, hobbies and interests). Include community service involvement. Share information about leadership positions held and awards or honors earned, academically and/or professionally.
Transcripts (include GPA)
Test scores (SAT, ACT -- if those tests were taken)
Letter(s) of recommendation - Scholarship applicants must provide a letter of recommendation regarding their qualifications, achievements and character. The recommendation can come from an academic, professional or personal contact.
There is also an optional provision for applicants to receive sponsorship from a Nexstar Network member.
